more about ozone

Here is how ozone safely removes odor, mold and more

Ozone machines eliminate odors and the things that cause them at their source.

Although odors come from a variety of sources, they all have the same thing in common. They are all airborne particulates which will remain airborne and potentially hazardous (mold, mildew, bacteria) until treated.

Ozone is effective at oxidizing odors and killing the origin of the smell whether it is mold, mildew, or bacteria caused from decaying animals, etc. Our produtcs do not use chemicals or fragrances to mask the odor problem that often can be more objectionable than the original odor being treated. These units attack the source head-on. And because there are no chemicals, Ozone Blast is a safer solution to odor problems.

frequently asked questions

  1. What does the Ozone Blast do?
    A. It treats the air by breaking down odor causing pollutants and dropping airborne particulate from breathing space.
  2. How does the Ozone Blast treat the air?
    A. The Ozone Blast produces ozone, which is the effective cleansing agent that nature uses to purify the air.
  3. Is ozone safe?
A.Yes. In fact, many hospitals around the world use large ozone generators to decontaminate operating rooms between surgeries. The rooms are sealed airtight before being filled with ozone which kills all remaining bacteria. Even though ozone is safe, at very high concentrations it can be irritating to mucous membranes and the respiratory system. That is why ozone blast Ozone Generators should only be used in unoccupied spaces.  People or pets should never be in an area being treated with high levels of ozone.
  4. How does nature produce ozone?
A.Ozone is created electrically during active thunderstorms. The electrical discharge creates a fresh sweet smell. The ultraviolet rays of the sun striking hydrocarbons in our atmosphere also create ozone.
  5. What are the benefits of using ozone?
    A. Ozone is very effective in eliminating odors including tobacco smoke, animal and pet, food, mold and mildew, garbage, and much more. It is not a re-odorant. It totally destroys the offending gases that are the source of everything we smell. Unlike many other deodorizing methods, ozone actually oxidizes odors and bacteria as it encounters them. It will eliminate contaminants in the air, fabrics, and on the surface of the walls and ceilings. Basically, anywhere the air can get, ozone can get, and will eliminate the odor.

Unlike deodorizers, there is no chemical smell or residue which some people are more offended by than the original odor. The area becomes truly free from odor.

  1. How much ozone do I need to completely eliminate odors?
    A. It all depends on the environment you are working in. Humidity, temperature, the size of the area to be treated, the type of odor, and how embedded the odor is, are all factors. Generally speaking, the longer the odor has been in the area, the longer it will take to eliminate the odor.
  2. How does the ozone blast ozone generator work?
    A. Ozone Blast utilizes a technology referred to as a corona discharge. This technology duplicates the effect of lightning by using a special transformer that sends a current to a stainless steel screen attached to a ceramic plate. As a result, the O2 molecule is split into single O1 molecules, which recombine to other O2 molecules to become O3 Ozone (activated oxygen). This loosely attached oxygen atom then seeks to bond with bacteria and other odor causing pollutants in order to oxidize them.
  3. How does the ozone blast compare to air filters?
    A. Ozone blast does not rely on the air to pass through the machine to be cleaned like air filters. It’s not a filter at all. The ozone blast produces activated oxygen which reduces odors and settles out particulate, thereby eliminating them.
